Is it February already!?

Today is Wednesday February 2nd - it's a BEAUTIFUL sunny day, I am off work, the Summer slept through the night and then napped in bed with me for 2 hours this morning, I'm cleaning... she's napping - life is good!

I'll hopefully have some more pictures to post pretty soon.  I bought a new Camera and decided to learn a little photography from my father in law Hank (along with books, the internet and of course experience).  So far I am totally in love with it.  We took some Valentines Day photos of her last weekend.  Since I'm a newbie, the setup and process took about three times longer - so I didn't have time to edit or download any of the photos.  Soon though.  I think I got a couple of good shots!  :)

Summer is starting to stand quite a bit.  If you try to get her to sit, she stands immediately.  She's also been infatuated with us eating, and copying our mouth movements.  We are going to start the little wiggle bug on oatmeal this weekend and see how it goes.  She's 5 months now!  It's amazing.

She has a cold again - and I think me chasing her around with q-tips and a camera is starting to have a negative effect on our relationship.  Her first words are going to be "Daddy, please save me from the crazy lady with the q-tips and the flash!" :)

Merry Christmas From Our Family To Yours

Christmas Eve was basically a nightmare with the baby :)  She skipped ALL of her naps, and was just grouchy as could be.  However she looked adorable, and got a lot of great gifts from her family and friends.  Thanks to everyone.  Today she has taken all of her naps, and I'm hoping for a smile or two for photos :)  We'll see.

Mayday, Mayday - we have a sick baby!

Poor little bug is sick.  I suppose it had to happen sooner or later, and I'm glad we made it to almost 4 months before it did!  She has been having tummy troubles for a day or so - and this morning she was very sleepy and had a low fever.  I made an appointment with the doctor, and by the time we got there her fever was 102 degrees.  Oh man.  But he checked her ears, lungs and throat - and said it's not the flu, just an intestinal bug.  Hopefully we will be back up and smiling again in a couple of days.

Here's hoping mommy and daddy don't get it (ha... right) :)

Thanksgiving Already!

Wow - it's been a while since I've updated the blog :)  Baby Summer and I are doing really well.  She's sleeping a good 6-8 hours through the night now (with an occasional 5 hour mixed in) :)  That's been such a nice change!  It's nice when you go to bed at night knowing that you will actually get to go to sleep for a little chunk of time.  She's been cooing and talking a lot - and recently learned how to play with her spit bubbles.  It's amazing how things like that impress the heck out of us :)  We were also discussing the other day how many times a day we smell her pants.  That's something I never thought I'd be impressed with either :)  Big poopy diapers.

On that subject - Shawn watched Summer yesterday while I shopped for new clothes with my mom.  While we were gone - she poopered the HECK out of her pants :)  Finally, daddy's turn to change a crazy diaper (along with wash all her clothes, give her a bath,  and wash her bouncy chair - which didn't survive either).  He was not impressed, but he has a little more respect for what I do all day.  Haha.  He's such a great daddy.

We put our Christmas tree up early - so that we could start enjoying our first Christmas with Moon  (her new nickname based on her white skin color and perfect balding round head).  She was pretty impressed - here are some photos.

2 Month checkup tonight!

Summer has the big "2 Month" checkup tonight.  That's the one with all the shots for those you might not know.  Poor little thing.  I'm so excited to see how much she's grown however.  We are extra excited because Daddy gets to come to this appointment as well - hopefully he'll be ok with the shots and all :)  I know how much he loves needles.
