God Bless Daddy's :)
Shawn took his first all-night shift with the little bug last night. Mommy was able to sleep for 7 hours! Let me tell you - the WORLD of difference that made! She was pretty good for him last night too - so maybe he will do it again next weekend :) I knew I was lacking sleep - but I had no idea how crazy it was making me until I finally got some sleep. I woke up a completely different person today (thankfully... the person I was yesterday was less than pleasant to say the least) haha :)

Oh sweet relief!
So summer has been screaming and gassy for the past two weeks. She hasn't been sleeping - and was falling asleep as soon as I tried to feed her, so we spent the whole feeding wrestling her awake. So the doctor has asked us to supplement formula - and to pump my breast milk instead. She hadn't gained any weight - and might have acid reflux. This is actually great news :) It means that her screaming isn't "normal" - and we might be able to fix this! It also means that other people can now feed her!! Ahh... haha. Yay! Maybe now I can finally get some sleep. Honestly, I feel more connected to her this way since we are no longer wrestling and fighting - she's happy and slept like an angel today. Thank heavens.

One week old - well... 10 days!
Our little bug is now 10 days old! She's now screaming through the night :) It's adorable... Mommy is tired, but amazed that she's already 10 days old. I suppose this time really does fly - so we are enjoying the screaming as much as we possibly can. Grandma Sherbear has been watching her for us while we try to catch up on our Z's. She sleeps like an angel for grandma :) nobody believes me that she's actually a screaming crazy-pants.
I've nicknamed her "little bird" - she's constantly mouthing like a hungry little bird. It's so cute - she crosses her eyes and bobs her head around. What a pumpkin.

Welcome Baby Summer
Insanity! That's basically our life in a nutshell :) As you can imagine.
Well, Friday afternoon I wasn't feeling well - and I was having a lot of back pain and nausea. I was having small contractions apparently (I didn't think they were contractions until they resulted in a baby). I labored at home until about 1:30am - and then I KNEW I was in labor and it was time to GO! When I checked in, I was at 5cm and having contractions every 5 min. I labored for another 2.5 hours with no meds - until the contractions moved from my back into my left HIP. On man...
Then the doctor came in with a giant weapon and said she wanted to break my water :) that's where I lost my focus. I asked for the Epidural before we went any further. With that much pain, the idea of someone taking shiny metal objects to me was a little too much to handle. The Epidural was gross, and I wasn't sure it was the right choice. UNTIL of course it came time to push. I felt nothing, and pushed her out in no time! She was born at 9:56am Saturday - on her due date. Little bugger.
So it's been a lot of doctors appointments, follow ups, and trying to get settled in - chaos. She's being a great baby so far, so that's nice! Besides being gorgeous and perfect of course :)
